Overview


On 13th, the participants of the tour visited two important places, Vikram Sarabhai Space Center and Weather Observatory, Trivandrum. At VSSC, Participants visited the space museum there and also watched a documentary film on ISRO's Journey, Space Recovery Experiment and Chadryaan Mission.

Overview


14 Jan was rest day. Participants went to see Ramsethu at Dhanushkodi in the evening. At night, there was a star gazing program arranged by Khagol Vishwa. Mayuresh Prabhune indroduced everyone to night sky, constellations and Rashi, nakshatras. After that, everyone observed Pleiades, Orion Nebula and Mars through telescope

Overview


Eclipse Observations started around 10 am in the morning at Hotel Tamilnadu, a government hotel. Khagol Vishwa had set up three telescopes, 5 galilean telescopes, 80X20 binocular for participants so they can view the Sun. Various experiments and observations were carried out, like visual observations, measurement of drop in tempreture and light, radio observations of Sun during eclipse etc.

After eclipse participants went to Panban Bridge for some time and then returned to Madurai.
