Khagol Vishwa Initiation Program - Part 1

To familiarize the new Khagol Vishwa members to night sky and instruments used for observations, Khagol Vishwa arranges initiation program for its new members. These star gazing sessions are arranged twice in a year. The next series of these weekly sessions will start from 13th February, 2010. The Schedule for the Sessions is as follows.





Date: Saturday, 13 February - Sunday, 14 February.

Time: Reporting time at Office at 06:00 PM on Saturday, 13th February.

Place:

Instructions: Our Session will start from 08 PM and finish around 5 AM in the morning. Bring Warm clothes, Water Bottles, Mattress, Battery and writing material with you. We will be hiring a vehicle to travel to observation site and back in the morning, depending on the number of members attending. The cost will be shared equally by every member. Please confirm that you are coming by calling or texting Mayuresh on 9011220542, so we'll get the idea of total number of members attending and can do preparations accordingly. Thank you.

• Introduction to Basic Celestial System

Practical (Duration – Remaining time)

• Introduction to the night sky

• Stargazing session

• Competition of Stargazing

• Tricks to remember constellations and stars

• How to align telescope

• Maintaining the Telescope

• Introduction to the night sky

• Searching faint objects through telescope


Date May 22 - 23:

Time: 9 PM - 5 AM

Place: Kadus, Rajgurunagar

Instructions: Bring Dinner, Water Bottles, notepad, Pen, torch and if you can, a digital Camera for photography with you. Please let us know if you are coming as soon as possible so we can arrange transportation accordingly. Charges for Transportation will be shared equally by every participant.
